Quotes on gratitude aren’t going to change your life, but they can help you become more mindful. Becoming more mindful is an essential foundation for overall self improvement.
Quotes on gratitude can motivate, inspire, and cause you to think about things differently.
The more you think about things differently, the more likely you are to start taking different actions. Over time, taking different actions will change your life.
In that way, quotes serve as a foundation and impetus for self improvement and change.
For example, one of my favorite quotes on gratitude is:
“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” –Eckhart Tolle
It’s so easy to take for granted those things which we become familiar with.
When we have food and water every day we don’t tend to acknowledge it as wonderful.
Most of us are accustomed to having a roof over our head and being protected from the elements. It generally doesn’t cross our mind to stop and appreciate it.
If we suddenly didn’t have access to food and water it would be a different story.
If we no longer had a roof over our head we would notice it very quickly, and it would cause distress.
It wouldn’t be long before we felt a sense of fear, followed by pain and suffering.
However, taking a moment to be grateful for these things creates the feeling of abundance. Even if it’s in small amounts.
That’s because abundance is an internal feeling, not an external object to obtain.
The more things you find to be grateful for, the more abundant your life will be.
When you feel gratitude in a moment, you automatically feel more abundance in that moment.
If you can make these moments frequent enough, your entire life becomes more abundant as a natural result.
At a high level, that’s what the quote means to me.
It really means that gratitude and abundance are one and the same. Abundance is the opposite of lack and gratitude is an expression of plenty.
That particular quote on gratitude might not have any significance for you, but chances are there are at least a few that will.
Check out the list below and see if some of the quotes on gratitude resonate with you. If they do, commit them to memory and be sure to draw upon them when needed.
One of them could be just what you need at just the right time to help modify your thinking. Armed with new thoughts, have the courage to act on them and behave differently.
Over time, self improvement and change are inevitable.
