Quotes on confidence aren’t going to change your life, but confidence is necessary if you want to take control of your life. Specifically, self-confidence, that kind of confidence that doesn’t require validation.
What quotes can do is motivate, inspire, and cause you to think about things differently.
The more you think about things differently, the more likely you are to start taking different actions. Over time, taking different actions will change your life.
So I guess in a roundabout way, quotes can be an impetus for self improvement and change.
For example, one of my favorite quotes on confidence is “With confidence, you have won before you have started”
When I read this quote, it makes me want to dig deeper about what it really means.
To me, it means that confidence gives you a winning mindset that allows you to have the best chance at success. It also gives you near certainty about the outcome before you begin.
This quote makes me think about how to gain confidence. Sure, it’s nice to have confidence and “win before you start” but what causes confidence in the first place?
For one, courage builds self-confidence. The more you repeatedly do things that make you anxious or afraid, the more confidence you’ll have. Act in the face of fear over and over again and you will build confidence.
Another way to gain confidence is preparation. Studying helps you do better on a test. Rehearsing a speech makes you more prepared for the real presentation. Practicing a sport causes you to perform better during the game.
So when I remember this quote, I also remember two important things about life. I need to act even when I’m afraid, and I need to always prepare for important things.
Both will build my self-confidence in the short and long-term.
The above quote might not have any significance for you, but chances are there are at least a few that will.
Check out the list below and see if some of the quotes on confidence resonate with you. If they do, commit them to memory and be sure to draw upon them when needed.
One of them could be just what you need at just the right time to help modify your thinking. Armed with new thoughts, have the courage to act on them and behave differently.
Over time, self improvement and change are inevitable.
